THE FOUNDERS

SCD Creative specializes in construction and design work and is comprised of 3 siblings, Sarah, Chris & David, from Northern Michigan.

The original idea for the company was created back in 1997 by their late father, Jim, who dedicated most of his life to being a professional sign artist and used his talents to create the SCD Creative logo you see today. As a successful florist and event decorator, their mother, Jeanne, also cultivated Sarah, Chris and David’s gift of creativity.
Sarah, the eldest, received a BA in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design in 2007. Chris, the middle sibling, apprenticed with their father and was gifted with fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. After serving multiple tours as an aircraft electrician with the United States Marines, David, the youngest, went on to get his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2016. He then persuaded Sarah and Chris into combining all of their creative talents and SCD Creative was officially born.  
Though the company formally began in 2018, they got their first taste of home building back in the early 2000s when they worked together to build their family log cabin that their mother still resides in today.
That passion kept building as each of them continued to master their crafts over the last 20 years.
